The bean game

This fun little transfer activity was intended for some calm-down fun before nap time one day and lasted over a half hour.  Mini Me loved it!  

I got a muffin tin, a small selection of spoons and scoops, and some beans.  The game?  Move the beans but don't use your hands!

Mini Me quickly figured out how to use two scoops to make the transfer easier.

Those last few beans are tough to get!

Before long we were having races to see who could empty their cup and transfer all the beans to another cup the fastest.  We also worked as a team to get all the beans in one cup.

After a short while he said to me, "We need something bigger.  That will be easier.  Can we do marshmallows?"  Well, my clever little boy knew I would say yes to the special treat for such a clever idea...

This is what Little Lady did when I gave her a bowl, a muffin tin, and some toys to see what she would do with the supplies:  

Pretty soon Mini Me was trying to spoon the marshmallows in his mouth instead of transfer them.  And then Mommy spilled the beans.  Nap time!

I accidentally left everything on the table during nap time and we came back and did it again later in the afternoon.  But not Little Lady... she wasn't in a muffin tin kind of mood.  Maybe another day!
