Our trees have deposited their beautiful foliage to our yard. For some reason this year it seems ten times more fun than in years past and I don't know if it is our unseasonably warm temperatures or Mini Me's age. One day we set out to play in the backyard when we had a little buddy over to play.
Instead of the typical rake-the-leaves-into-a-pile-and-jump, I started by raking a big maze-like path through the leaves. Mini Me called it the labyrinth, reminiscent of one of our favorite places to play. Both boys - and later Little Lady - had a blast running through the leaf maze.
They ran along the twisting path, timed each other by counting how fast the other could make it all the way through, and raced the toy lawnmower down the path.
When the leaf maze got old, they took turns raking piles of leaves for each other to jump in. Mini Me also had fun making leaf angels in the piles. It was a great morning in the yard!

Our family has always loved playing in leaves. Looks like you had a wonderful time! Visiting from the Sunday Showcase~ Kristi :)
ReplyDeleteThis was my very favorite thing to do as a child every fall! We would make an entire town in the leaves. Each of us would rake a space for a little house and then connect them all with a road/maze in between. As we got older, we added a school and church and store, etc... Your pics brought back fun memories. I think I will teach my little ones how to play leaf town tomorrow after school!
ReplyDeleteDanielle, that sounds like so much fun and something right up my alley. How cool! We will do this again next year and try to do it town-style.
