How I used vodka to teach my toddler her colors

Okay, the vodka was consumed by neither party during the lesson and I can't say that Little Lady knows all her colors yet, but it was still interesting.  


I was making Skittles flavored vodka from this great tutorial for Christmas gifts.  I had measured the vodka and put it in bottles to mix with the Skittles.  Little Lady loves to climb on her stool and help in the kitchen so I gave her the job of putting the Skittles in the bottles.  She did wonderfully and with the small bottle opening at the top, it was excellent small motor practice.

When all the lids were screwed on tightly, we had to shake them a bit.  Shaking a bottle of colored liquid is great fun to a toddler, and we really went to town doing it.   We shook bottles and sang and talked about colors.  Fun times with some vodka! 

(and it tastes oh so yummy!)
