E is for elephant walk.
With our elephant puppets and our bodies we walked like elephants. We stomped and tried to make long trunks out of our arms. We trumpeted. We sang our elephant songs. We played with our elephant puppets. Little Lady thought the stomping was the best!
E is for (un) Elefante.
This is a fun Spanish song we sang a lot during E week:
Un elefante se balanceaba
sobre la tela de una araña,
como veía que resistía
fue a llamar a otro elefante.
Dos elefantes se balanceaban,
sobre la tela de una araña,
como veían que resistía
fueron a llamar a otro elefante.
Tres elefantes...
Cuatro elefantes...
And the English:
An elephant stood on the web of a spider.
She felt it was strong, it couldn't be tighter.
Along came her friend. She called to invite her.
Two elephants stood on the web of a spider.
Two elephants stood on the web of a spider.
They felt it was strong, it couldn't be tighter.
Along came their friend. They called to invite her.
Three elephants stood on the web of a spider.
Three elephants...
Four elephants...
It's like the Sharon, Lois, and Braham song:
One elephant went out to play
Upon a spider's web one day
They had such enormous fun that
They called for another elephant to come.
Two elephants went out to play
Upon a spider's web one day
They had such enormous fun that
They called for another elephant to come.... etc.
So, we sang a lot about elephants!
E is for elephant toothpaste.
I used the instructions on this site to make elephant toothpaste with Little Lady. It was awesome!
The ingredients are simple: dish soap, hydrogen peroxide, yeast in warm water, and food coloring. Little Lady chose blue.
Mix it, pour it, and watch it flow!
Little Lady was delighted.
Bert the elephant watched. He was not as impressed.
We touched and poked the warm, foamy mixture. It smelled like soapy yeast.
We did eventually get an old toothbrush and some toy animals to try and brush their teeth.
We played and played until the foam was gone.
Excellent fun!
E is for elefante and estrella.
There were no problems getting this word in the vocabulary during E week!
One day we pulled out some estrella stickers. I made x's on paper in the shape of a constellation. Little Lady's job was to place the estrella sticker on each x. We did Casseopia and Ursa Major (Minor?) before she started peeling the stickers back off and putting them on our hands. Later, Daddy came along and traced his hand and hers on the paper, too. Awww.... (and it's rotated wrong!)
