A Year of ABCs: Letter H

Art: H is for Hand Hug
Both of my children LOVE having their hands traced so anything involving hands is an instant hit.  I had Little Lady smear paint a piece of cardstock, then I traced several of her hands on it.  I cut the hands out and secured two of them with yarn
to make a hand hug.  We gave these to her grandparents so they can have a Little Lady hug, even when they are far away.  In the mean time, Little Lady has been asking for hugs a lot more since we practiced the word a lot.

Art: H is for Hand and foot flowers
I didn't really plan on doing these and had the idea on whim one day while we were painting.  It was messy but so fun.  Little Lady got the giggles when I painted her hand and foot, which made me get the giggles, which increased the mess but it was fun!  I think the flowers are very cute.

Math: H is for Heart sort
I cut out two colors of paper hearts and helped Little Lady try to sort the colors.  As interested as she is in painting and coloring, she couldn't care less about color discussions.  We tried to sort the hearts to their matching colored plate, but Little Lady was content trying to fly the hearts through the air, saying "heart", so we let it go at that.
We tried it again another day and she put all the hearts on the correct plates lickety-split... guess she can do it!

Movement: H is for Hammering
With a plastic hammer, a recycled egg carton colored on the bottom, and some of Daddy's golf tees, Little Lady did some hammering to practice her colors.  The hammering part went by the wayside quickly as she just preferred to push the golf tees in, but she had fun doing it over and over and over again.

Music: H is for Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes
This song is fun to do and hilarious to watch as my toddler tried oh-so-hard to get all the movements in.  I love watching her learn to maneuver herself in different ways!

Spanish: H is for Hola
